Lessons from a Rainy Day at Disneyland.

Last Friday myself and 5 of my friends took our 12 boys and girls for an overnighter at Disneyland.

The Sunday before the trip I happened to look at the weather report on my iphone. It showed a 30 percent chance of rain on Friday and Saturday.

On that Friday, I was at the office in the morning looking outside at the pooring rain coming down into the parking lot. And I thought…

Disney, in the rain. Perfect!

When we checked into the hotel my pal asked the lady at the counter, “With the rain, will the park be crowded?” Her answer really got me thinking. She said with a big smile, “Most people that would normally show up, don’t. Just the committed show up!”

Wow, “Just the committed show up.”

I told my boys the story and they said “Daddy, we’re committed to having fun, no matter what, besides, it’s only rain!”

Why do I share this story with you? Think about this. Here we are in the middle of a long “storm” in our industry.

And many are looking outside waiting for the rain to stop and some have decided to pursue other ventures all together, just because of the storm.

While many, the committed few, are simply working in the rain!

I have said for years, in every changed market, someone steps up, stands out, does the work and make’s a difference in the community and with their clients.

So here’s my question for you…

Have you been sitting in doors, waiting for this storm to end… Or are you one of the few who’s okay getting a little wet or better yet… Ready to jump in a few puddles and be one of the committed few?

The choice is yours!

Remember, all the big money will be made by doing your work on the days you don’t feel like it!
